This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Presently for mobile devices, which was created by developers Tarun Talan and Siddhi Goel. Presently is a modern student companion utility designed to simplify academic scheduling, timetable management, and class attendance tracking.

This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect, how we store and transmit it, and the control you have over your personal data. By downloading, accessing, or using the Presently mobile application, you consent to the data collection and usage practices described in this document.
2. Information We Collect
To provide core features like timetable sync, friend lists, and notification delivery, Presently collects specific pieces of information:
Student Credentials & Profile
We collect your Student ID/Roll Number, Name, and Section/Branch to fetch your timetable from the university API and to identify you in the friends list. Passwords are sent securely to query class schedules.
FCM Notification Tokens
To deliver real-time timetable changes or system notifications, we register your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to link notifications to your specific Student ID.
Diagnostics & Performance Logs
We use Firebase Crashlytics to monitor application performance and stability. When the app crashes, it automatically logs diagnostic info such as device model, OS version, and stack traces.
3. Device Permissions Required
Presently requires the following native Android permissions to operate correctly. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time via your device settings.
Full Network Access
Used to fetch up-to-date timetable schedules, register push tokens, and submit support tickets to our Render backend API.
View Network Connections
Used to check whether your device has an active internet connection before calling backend endpoints, optimizing battery usage.
Send Push Notifications
Required to deliver alerts, timetables changes, or reminders for upcoming classes directly to your system tray.
Schedule Exact Reminders
Allows Presently to schedule microsecond-accurate alarms so that you receive class warnings exactly when they are set to occur, even when the device is in Doze/standby mode.
Run at Startup
Enables the app to re-schedule locally configured timetable class reminders automatically after your device reboots.
4. How We Use Your Information
We utilize the collected information for the following specific purposes:
- Service Provision: To query your university academic portal backend and populate your weekly and daily timetables within the app.
- Social Synchronization: To let you discover and add peers via their Student ID and manage a shared friend network in-app.
- Push Reminders: To route class notification events to your physical device.
- App Support & Troubleshooting: To read and action support tickets you submit, linking diagnostic device details to help troubleshoot your bug.
- Analytics & Improvement: To track crashes and performance regressions, helping us ship stability updates.
5. Data Storage, Security, & Sharing
We implement strict security measures to protect your digital records:
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, trade, or lease any student credentials or personal logs to marketing agencies or third parties.
- Secure Transmission: All data transferred between Presently and our APIs is encrypted using secure Transport Layer Security (HTTPS/SSL).
- Third-Party Processors: We host our backend services on Render hosting. Mobile push routing and crash analytics are securely processed through Google Firebase Services.
Note on Backups: To maximize privacy, local application state backup is disabled (allowBackup="false") to prevent data from being copied onto unauthorized cloud environments during system syncs.
6. Account & Data Deletion
In compliance with the Google Play Console Developer Policy, we provide users with full control over their data. You can request the removal of all student logs, credentials, active notifications, and friend connections stored in our database.

7. Children's Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.
